Horse Springs Campground

USDA Forest Service 7200 ft elevation

Horse Springs is a small, primitive campground deep in the San Bernardino National Forest north of Big Bear, offering sweeping mountain views in a cluster of juniper and pine trees. All 11 sites are first-come, first-served with no water on site, making it best suited for experienced campers who want genuine backcountry solitude without the permit overhead of true wilderness camping. Access requires navigating remote Forest Service roads, so a high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended.
