Brand new parking lot opened July 2025 specifically serving Big Bear's most popular trail - Castle Rock Trail. This well-designed facility features 38 paved spaces including 2 ADA-accessible spots, vault toilets, trash receptacles, and bike rack. Hours are enforced 7am-7pm daily, with the lot filling by 9am on summer and fall weekends despite its generous capacity - arrive early for best availability. No Adventure Pass required - completely free parking, which is a huge advantage over other trailheads. As of July 23, 2025, trail users are required to park here (no more roadside parking allowed). Located at 38501 Big Bear Boulevard at Talbot Drive intersection, this lot has transformed access to Castle Rock Trail by eliminating parking chaos and providing proper facilities.
