About This Parking Lot
The Sandalwood lot is the main remote overflow lot in Big Bear Mountain Resort's free Park & Ride system, serving both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. It is a large dirt lot operated by the resort at 103 Sandalwood Drive, east of Vons, with room for thousands of cars, and it is free β no reservation and no parking pass required. During ski season, complimentary resort shuttles run from the lot directly to both base areas in about 5β10 minutes; shuttle service pauses in the off-season and resumes when winter operations start. This is the fallback once the resorts' upper reserved lots sell out or fill, and on peak weekends it is often more predictable than waiting for a space at the base. Sandalwood is one of five BBMR remote lots β alongside Fox Farm, Brownie Lane, Moonridge and Backward Look β with Fox Farm the usual secondary overflow if Sandalwood fills. There are no restrooms at the lot itself, so plan on the base lodge facilities. No overnight parking is permitted.
